Jamaica's Bolt zips way to world record in 100 meters (USA Today)
Usain Bolt of Jamaica needed 9.72 seconds to change his mind about his Olympic plans and rearrange the forecasts for the 100 meters in Beijing. Not only did his time at the Reebok Grand Prix break the world record of 9.74, set by countryman Asafa Powell last season, but Bolt delivered a sound beating to 100 and 200 world champion Tyson Gay, who was second in 9.85.
